STOP KILLING JOURNALISTS !!!

STOP KILLING JOURNALISTS !!!

Together with the rest of the world, I strongly condemned the politically motivated November 23 abduction and killing of over 50 people, at least 25 of them journalists, in Maguindanao. It is a new low even for the Philippines. Not only its brutality, but the sheer senselessness of it as well qualify it for collective outrage and condemnation and the strongest call for the immediate apprehension, trial and punishment of those responsible.

The following journalists are the victims of savage killers:
1. Ian Sublang – Media/Gensan Newsprint
2. Lea Dalmacio – Media/Gensan Newsprint
3. Gina Dela Cruz – Media/Gensan Newsprint
4. Marites Cabunes – Media/Gensan Newsprint

are they coincidental? i’m sure they’re not.

by the way, Decena ang misis ko. ang kanilang pamilya’y nagmumula sa Kabankalan, sa Negros.

May kasabihan nga “This World is Unfair”. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

  16. Ampatuan surrenders

    INQUIRER.net
    First Posted 07:59:00 11/26/2009

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE 3) A key suspect in the gruesome killings in Maguindanao province and member of a powerful clan in Mindanao has surrendered to authorities.

Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr., son of Maguindanao Governor Andal Ampatuan Sr., has been identified as having masterminded the massacre last November 23 that claimed the lives of at least 57 people, including 18 journalists who were supposed to cover the filing of candidacy for governor of the Ampatuans’ political rival, Buluan Mayor Esmael Mangudadatu.

Ampatuan Jr. gave himself up to Jesus Dureza, presidential adviser on Mindanao in the capitol of Maguindanao.

Mangudadatu’s wife, two lawyers of the mayor, and his two sisters were among those killed allegedly by some 100 armed men who blocked the convoy of vehicles that was to take Mangudadatu’s supporters to Shariff Aguak in Maguindanao. Charlie Señase
